Misty Elizabeth May-Treanor has now retired from the sport after winning 112 individual championships, making her the number one female beach volleyball player.

She along with Kerri Walsh has won Gold in the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympics after which she announced her retirement. Daria Andreyevna Dmitrieva has won medals in almost all the major championships that she had participated. She was first seen in the international arena in the Deriugina Cup where she won the Gold medal in the Juniors All-around. She was also the champion of the European Junior Championship that was held in the year 2008 in Torino, Italy. The Junior Team Gold medal was also under her name in the same tournament.

One of the youngest players, Samantha Harrison is a New Zealand hockey player who played for the team in the 2012 London Olympics. She debuted for the Black Sticks Women, which is the women’s hockey team of New Zealand, in the year 2009.

She was only 18 when she made her debut. It was on 29 August, 1991 that Steve and Zanna Harrison gave birth to Sam Harrison at Whangerei. She is the second of the three sisters in the family. Charlotte Harrison is her elder sister whereas Anita is the younger one. She was good in studies and attended Whangarei Girls High School in the initial years and later attended the Diocesan School for girls, which is located in Auckland.

After completing the schools, she is a student of Auckland University of Technology, studying psychology. The university is located on the northern shore of the city.

“Samantha Harrison” is a part of the Black Sticks Women from June 2009.
