Fiorentina Will Fight For Adrian Mutu, He Will Not Be Banned
Fiorentina director Pantaleo Corvino admits the club will use every legal avenue in an attempt to help Adrian Mutu with his Chelsea compensation dispute.
The Romanian has been ordered to pay his former side around €17 million in compensation for his drug-taking actions in 2004.
Reports suggested Chelsea could apply to FIFA for a long-term ban if he didn’t pay up, but Corvino has other ideas.
“We are sure that Mutu will not be banned,” Corvino toldSky Sport Italia.
“In any case, we are ready for every battle.”
Corvino also confirmed the Zdravko Kuzmanovic to Stuttgart deal, but it’s not official just yet, despite some reports claiming it was.
“Kuzmanovic wanted to leave and so we operated things with that in mind. The deal is not official though as there are still some papers to sign,” concluded the Italian.
