Defederico is a fast, left-footed player with very good dribbling ability and called El Pibe de Oro del Parque San Jorge (The Golden Boy from Saint George Park).
His professional debut for Huracán was on 18 August 2007 in a 0-0 home draw with Tigre. In the Clausura 2009 championship De Federico established himself as a regular first team player for the club under the management of Ángel Cappa. De Federico and teammate Javier Pastore formed part of an attacking formation that was described as fantastic by the Argentine press.He was subsequently linked to Corinthians for US$ 4 million and was signed by them.
