Per Mertesacker (born 29 September 1984 in Hannover) is a German footballer who plays as a defender for Germany national football team.

Despite his intimidating height, his game is unusually clean for a defender, evident by his relatively few bookings. He is known for having a penchant of scoring headers from set-pieces and corners due to his height advantage.

    I see Per Mertesaker’s heightlisted. What does he way?
    Watching Germany 4 Vs England 1 today (June 27th 2010 FIFA)I couldn’t help but notice this young & excellent footballer. He looks like my male cousins in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and very much like the National Hockey League player (retired) Karl Dykhuis of Le Club Canadiens de Montreal AKA “HABS”.
    Waiting for someone to leave a reply giving Mertesaker’s weight. My late father Hendrik Dijkhuis (born in Rotterdam) was a well-known footballer in his youth.
    I love sports, especially (Ice) Hockey, Curling and Football (Soccer in North America).
