Wesley Benjamin Sneijder (born 9 June 1984, in Utrecht) is a Dutch footballer who currently plays for Italian Serie A club Internazionale as a midfielder. In 2004, Sneijder was awarded the Johan Cruijff Award for Young Player of the Year in the Netherlands.

A product of the Ajax Academy, he previously played for AFC Ajax and Real Madrid, before signing for Internazionale in 2009. In his first season at the Italian club, Sneijder won the European Treble, consisting of Serie A, Coppa Italia and UEFA Champions League.

2010 World Cup: Sneijder was in the starting line-up for their first match in the competition, a 2–0 victory over Denmark. Sneijder scored the winning goal in a 1–0 victory over Japan. In the first two matches of the group stage at the FIFA World Cup he was selected as the man of the match in both of them.In the Netherlands’ round of 16 match against Slovakia, Sneijder scored in a 2–1 victory. He also provided what was at first thought to be an assist for the first goal against Brazil in the quarter finals, but was later credited with the goal. He then scored a header direct from a corner and consigned Brazil to a 2–1 defeat, bringing his goal total in the tournament to four. Sneijder was again named man of the match on FIFA’s website. In the semi final against Uruguay, Sneijder scored in the 70th minute, taking his total in the competition so far to five, raising him to first place in terms of goals scored, along with David Villa. The Netherlands won the match 3–2 and progressed to the final. Sneijder was yet again named on FIFA’s website as the Budweiser man of the match according to the public on line vote.

Dirk Kuijt, ”Dirk Kuyt’ ‘(born 22 July 1980) is a Dutch professional footballer who currently plays for English club Liverpool. His primary position is as a striker, but now he is more often deployed as a winger for both Liverpool and the Netherlands national team.

Kuyt began his professional career with FC Utrecht in 1998 and quickly became part of their first team. He spent five years at the club and in his final season he won his first senior honour, the Dutch Cup, and was chosen as the season’s Dutch Golden Shoe Winner. Following this, he left Utrecht in a €1 million transfer to Feyenoord. He became the club captain in 2005 and was a prolific goalscorer at the Rotterdam club; he was the club’s top scorer for three consecutive seasons, the top goalscorer in the 2004–05 Eredivisie season, and the 2005–06 Dutch Footballer of the Year. Kuyt missed only five games over seven seasons from 1999 until 2006 and appeared in 179 consecutive matches between 2001–06.

He left Feyenoord after three years, having scored 71 league goals in 101 appearances, and joined Premier League side Liverpool for £10 million.He made his Premier League debut late in 2006 and immediately became part of the first team squad. He scored in his first ever UEFA Champions League final with Liverpool against AC Milan, with Kuyt offering late hope for Liverpool although eventually losing 2–1.

He made his international debut in 2004 and has represented the Netherlands at three major international tournaments, the 2006 FIFA World Cup, UEFA Euro 2008 and the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

2010 World Cup: Kuyt was included in the preliminary squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. On 27 May 2010, Netherlands manager Bert van Marwijk announced that the player would be part of the final squad of 23 participating in the competition.

Kuyt scored Holland’s second goal in the 85th minute of their 2-0 win over Denmark in their opening group match on a tap-in after Eljero Elia’s shot hit the post. In the July 2 quarterfinal match against Brazil, Kuyt flicked a corner on to Sneijder who headed the ball into the net, effectively giving the Dutch a 2-1 lead. He also assisted the goal scored by Arjen Robben against Uruguay in the semi-finals.

Demy Patrick René de Zeeuw (born 26 May 1983 in Apeldoorn, Netherlands) is a Dutch footballer who currently plays for Eredivisie club Ajax and the Netherlands national football team. He is a defensive midfielder described as a good tackler and a gifted passer of the ball. He previously played for AGOVV, Go Ahead Eagles, and AZ. While at AZ he was a key player in the squad that won the 2008–09 Dutch league, the club’s first championship victory in 28 years. Following this success he was rewarded with a move to Dutch giants Ajax.

Joris Mathijsen ( born 5 April 1980 in Goirle, North Brabant) is a professional Dutch footballer. He plays for national team as a centre back, usually on the left side as he is left footed.

Club Career: Willem II – AZ – Hamburg: Mathijsen started his football career at SV VOAB in Goirle after he visited a training session of a friend as a young boy. At the age of nine he left this club and came through the youth system of Willem II Tilburg. He was promoted to the first team for the 1998-99 season, making his debut on 27 February 1999 in a match against FC Utrecht. After six seasons at Willem II, he was sold by manager Co Adriaanse to AZ Alkmaar. However he endured a harder time breaking into the first team at Alkmaar and his case was not helped by injuries.

After finishing as runners-up in the Eredivisie in 2006, Mathijsen opted to transfer to German Bundesliga side Hamburg for €6 million where he teamed up with fellow Dutchmen Rafael van der Vaart and Nigel de Jong. He scored Hamburg’s 2500th goal (his first for the club) on 20 October 2007 against Stuttgart.

In November 2008, Mathijsen signed a new contract extension, tying him to Hamburg until the summer of 2012.
