Sven Bender (born 27 April 1989 in Rosenheim) is a German footballer who plays for Borussia Dortmund. He won the bronze medal of the Fritz Walter Award. His twin brother Lars won the gold medal.

Along with his brother Lars, he was part of the Germany U-19 side that won the 2008 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship.

Nuri Kazım Şahin (born 5 September 1988 in Lüdenscheid), simply known as Nuri Şahin, is a German-born Turkish footballer who plays as a midfielder.

Club Career:

Borussia Dortmund:On 6 August 2005, at the age of 16 years and 335 days, Şahin set a record by becoming the youngest player to have played in the Bundesliga, and became the youngest player to score in the Bundesliga on 25 November 2005 scoring against Nuremberg.

Feyenoord: On 5 July 2007, Şahin was transferred to Feyenoord on a one-year loan agreement, where he was reunited with Bert van Marwijk, his former coach at Borussia Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund: Şahin returned to Dortmund where he played an important role in the 2009–10 season, starting 33 out of 34 matches. He ended the season with 4 goals und 8 assists.

Sebastian Kehl (Born February 13, 1980) is a German footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Borussia Dortmund. He is naturally left footed and has also occasionally appeared at left back. He is well known for his tackling as well as his passing.

He is the current captain of Dortmund; he first wore the captain’s armband in a 2–1 German Supercup victory over Bayern Munich.

Born in Fulda, Kehl joined Borussia Dortmund in 2001 and has made 127 appearances. Kehl is undoubtedly a key player for the club, but he has faced many injury problems over his career; he made only 20 league appearances for the first team over the past two seasons.

He made his international debut against Slovakia in 2001 and has made a total of 31 appearances for Germany (as of July 8, 2006). Kehl won the runner-up in 2002 World Cup and the 3rd place in 2006 World Cup.

Jürgen Klopp (born 16 June 1967 in Stuttgart) is a German football manager, currently in charge of Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

Klopp played 340 games for Mainz 05 from 1990 to 2001. He originally played as a striker, before starting to play as a defender in the 1995-96 season.

Coaching: He was the manager of 1. FSV Mainz 05 for 8 years. During this period he led the team to its first appearance in the German Fußball-Bundesliga.

During his management the club also qualified for the UEFA Cup 2005-06. In the qualification he beat Armenian side FC MIKA and Icelandic side Keflavík, but in the main tournament his side lost to Sevilla FC – the team that later won the tournament.

In 2007, Mainz were relegated, but he remained manager for another season. However, due to the fact that Mainz did not achieve promotion, he left the job after the 2007-08 season at his own request; in May 2008, he was appointed as the new manager of Borussia Dortmund. He signed a two-year contract at the club, which had finished in a disappointing 13th place under previous manager Thomas Doll. Soon Klopp managed to gain his first trophy – DFB-Supercup (defeating champions Bayern Munich 2-1)

Career

Koch was born in Schwerte and settled 1991 with his family to Dortmund, here began Koch his career with VfL Hörde. In summer 2001 left VfL Hörde and signed an youth contract for Borussia Dortmund.

After seven years on youthside for Borussia Dortmund was in July 2008 promoted to the reserve side and earned his first cap in the Regionalliga West against FSV Mainz 05 II.

On 06 March 2010 made his Fußball-Bundesliga debut for Borussia Dortmund in a 3:0 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Mats Julian Hummels (born 16 December 1988 in Bergisch Gladbach) is a German footballer.

A product of FC Bayern Munich’s youth ranks, Hummels signed his first professional contract on 19 December 2006, until 2010. On 19 May 2007, in the season’s final match, he played his first league game with the first team, in a 5–2 home routing of 1. FSV Mainz 05.

On January 2008, Hummels joined Borussia Dortmund, initially on loan. During his first full season, he quickly established himself as first-choice, as he often partnered newly signed Neven Subotić (also born in December 1988), but also missed a great part of its final months due to injury. In February 2009, he was fully signed to the club.

Owomoyela, a right-sided defender/midfielder, began his career in lower league German football. In 2003, he made the step up to Arminia Bielefeld, then in the second division.

Great performances for Bielefeld in the 2004–05 season earned Owomoyela interest from German top clubs, and in 2005, he joined giants SV Werder Bremen. In his first season Owomoyela was the undisputed starter at right back and helped Bremen reach second in the league. With the arrival of Clemens Fritz the following season, however, he lost his starting position due to injuries and bad displays. Owomoyela was finally transferred to Borussia Dortmund at the beginning of the 2008-09 season, where he looks to reestablish himself in German top-flight football.

Marc Ziegler (born June 13, 1976 in Blieskastel) is a German footballer.

VfB Stuttgart was immersed in a goalkeeping crisis after the defection of legendary Eike Immel to England’s Manchester City in the 1995 summer. Youth graduate Ziegler – then 19 – won the battle for first-choice over longtime backup Eberhard Trautner and played all the season’s matches save five, but the club finished 10th with the second-worst defensive record in the league, only winning to Eintracht Frankfurt.

In the following three years, Ziegler only played 12 more matches combined, eventually leaving club and country in 2000, after a brief spell at Arminia Bielefeld: he started in Turkey with Bursaspor, then left in January 2001 to Austria, where he was the starter for FC Tirol Innsbruck in back-to-back league titles. In his second season, he also stayed unbeaten for more than 1000 minutes, coming close to an all-time European best.
