Larissa Riquelme new job

Wednesday, October 6th, 2010

Famous Paraguay World Cup fan Larissa Riquelme has a new job. She and Mexican soccer player Cuauhtemoc Blanco will begin their acting careers on a new TV drama series in Mexico, according to Yahoo Eurosport.

The 37-year-old Blanco, who became the oldest goal-scorer in the 2010 World Cup, will be playing a fireman while still playing soccer for second division Irapuato.

“I know I’ll be criticised, people will make fun of me, but I don’t care,” Blanco said. “I’ll give it all my efforts and I know I’ll come through.”

Riquelme, who has kept quite busy during the past few months, became a soccer sensation during the World Cup when she promised to run nude through the streets if Paraguay won the tournament.

Her role in the TV series remains unknown, but she recently posed naked for Playboy Brazil. Scroll down for photos of her showing off the 3D issue.

Nelson Haedo Valdez

Nelson Haedo Valdez

Nelson Antonio Haedo Valdez (born 28 November 1983 in Caaguazú) is a Paraguayan footballer.

Career: He joined Werder Bremen in December 2001 from Club Atlético Tembetary in Paraguay. He spent the first two seasons in the Regionalliga with the reserve team, but became more regular. In the 2003–04 season he helped Werder Bremen become German league and cup champion. On 7 December 2004, within minutes of coming on as a substitute, Valdez scored two goals against Spanish side Valencia C.F. to help his team to a 2:0 away win in an ill-tempered match and enable it to progress beyond the group stages of the Champions League. During his years at Bremen, he didn’t often receive the opportunity to start since he was stuck behind Miroslav Klose and Ivan Klasnić, the Bundesliga’s top striking duo at the time. In May 2006, Valdez signed a four year contract with German side Borussia Dortmund, where he was able to start on a regular basis but struggled to score, with 1 goal in 29 outings in 2006–07.

He was selected in Paraguay’s squad for the 2006 World Cup but, although he put on a good performance against England, he failed to score in the three appearances.
